Hi! We are glad you are here and open to counseling!

Friendswood Marriage Counseling provides individual and affordable counseling services for adults 18 and up. We can talk about your relationship with your partner or any other stresses in your life. Talking about your relationship is not required in individual counseling. We can talk about whatever you want.

Some partners don’t want to come to marriage counseling while others can’t come because of their busy schedules. Individual counseling is a great option in these cases.

For any reason, if you have a spouse that does not want to come in,  we can still work with you. We can invite them in at a later session, or we can work on how you are feeling in the relationship.

Individual counseling is unique in that we can work on the relationship as well as some of your personal issues.

For example, if your husband cheated on you, we can talk about the affair and how it has affected your relationship, but we can also talk about your past relationships, if you have ever been cheated on before, how you feel about cheating, what relationships you saw growing up, and what you thought about cheating in past relationships.

We can go more in-depth with individual counseling which can help us better understand you and your goals.

Treatment methods with this type of one-on-one counseling include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Person Centered and the Gottman method.

Working one-on-one with a counselor can be intimidating, but it can also be incredibly helpful. Individual counseling  provides a private space for you to talk about your feelings, your relationship, your mistakes, your accomplishments, your goals, your thoughts, and your values. It is individualized counseling for you to talk about anything and everything. Keeping your feelings inside can be overwhelming, confusing, stressful or difficult.
